The Department of BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) was started from the Academic Year 2008-2009. At first, Dr. R. Y. Shinde, the then Head of the Department of English,was appointed as the Coordinatorof the BCA course. From 2014-15 onwards, Dr. S.P.Kamble, Librarian of the College, took over the charge of the Co-ordinator of the BCA Department.The BCA Course is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The college has appointed 3 computer teachers, one commerce teacher, two lab instructors and one clerk. Mr. Swapnil Khandagale having the M.Sc in computer Science was working as a Head in the BCA Department &after he left, Mrs. Rabia Momin has become the Head of the BCA Department.

The department had produced a large number of competences in the field of computer Science and a number of students have achieved University ranking. Our University rankers are as follows:

In the area of placement majority of students has got very goods post in IT sectors.
At present, the Department has its own separate building having sufficient classrooms and spacious computer lab with sufficient teaching staff and non-teaching staff.

Objectives

1 The main objectives of the course is to develop different software development skills in the students with current trends in IT industry as well as Business Management and to take up student at various positions such as System Analyst, System manager, software Engineers.
2 To provide higher education to all the students irrespective of their socio-economic and religious status.
3 To train the students as well as teachers to cope up with the changing needs of a modern dynamic society.
4 To impart value-based education, embodying socio-cultural,scientific, commercial and physical training in order to achieve all round development of the personality of all students.
5 To provide Career Oriented Courses, Distance Education,Education in Computer Applications, Remedial Coaching and Entry-in-Services Coaching along with conventional courses to the students and enhance their competence to meet the local as well asglobal needs.
6 To inculcate in the students the values of regularity, punctuality, honesty, humanity, patriotism, environment awareness, national integration, work culture and communal harmony.
7 To give special attention to the women empowerment programmes.
