Welcome to one of the most progressive and innovative college in Maharashtra which is located in Wai. Kisan Veer Mahavidyalaya, Wai is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur. The College is committed to achieve the highest academic standards. Under the guidance of the visionary leadership of Hon'ble Shri Prataprao Bhosale, the college has made a number of avenues available for the all-round development of the student population. The college has very attractive and naturally beautiful campus of nearly 20 acres. The college has Arts, Commerce, Science and BCA faculties. The BCA course has been providing quality education for the opening in the IT sector. The college is dedicated to expanding the pool of knowledge and creation of ideas through excellence. The college has geared up to incorporate new opportunities in the field of education, research, sports and cultural activities. From the year 2008, the department of BCA produced a large number of computer literate students with competent ICT skill and knowledge. The college also provides all infrastructure facilities and placement opportunities for their future. Information Technology has been changing not only industry but also human life drastically, and will cause further innovation in the future. The Department of Bachelor of Computer Applications provides you opportunities to learn and research in the innovative field of Information Technology.

Department of B. C. A.

The B. C. A. (Bachelor of Computer Applications) Programme, introduced by Shivaji University, Kolhapur, was started by Janata Shikshan Sanstha’s Kisan Veer Mahavidyalaya, Wai from the Academic Year 2008-2009. B. C. A. is a three-year UG Programme. Students qualifying class 12 are eligible to apply for the admission to this Programme. B. C. A. subjects include C Programming, Data Structures, Operating Systems, Database Management, Java Programming, Unix Programming, User Interface Design, Graphics and Animation, Python Programming, Web Designing, Cloud Computing, Multimedia Applications, etc. B. C. A. syllabus has 6 semesters over a three-year period. Its syllabus trains and educates the students to become Software Developers, System Analysts, Web Designers, Database Administrators, IT Support Specialists, etc. The B. C. A. Programme provides training to the students in the fields of computer applications, programming languages and IT. The students completing this programme have job opportunities in such sectors as healthcare, IT, trading, finance, software, transportation, education, etc.

Dr. R. Y. Shinde (Associate Professor and Head, Department of English), Dr. S. P. Kamble (Librarian) and Mr. B. B. Patkure (Associate Professor and Head, Department of Statistics) have worked as Coordinators of the B. C. A. Programme previously. At present, Dr. S. R. Sawant (Professor & Head, Department of English) has been working as a Coordinator of this Programme. Mr. Swapnil Khandagale, Mrs. Rabia Momin, and Mr. Bhaskar Raskar have worked as Heads of the Department of B. C. A. in the past. Currently, Mrs. Archana Kadam has been working as a Head of this Department.

The Department has produced a large number of competent graduates in the field of Computer Science. During the last fifteen years, many students of the Department have succeeded in obtaining University ranking. Our University rankers are as follows:

Several of our students have succeeded in reaching top posts in IT sectors.
The Department has a separate building of its own with a sufficient number of classrooms and spacious Computer Laboratory.
