The Department of History is one of the oldest academic departments of the college. It was established in 1962. The department has facilities for undergraduate teaching in history as a special subject at BA III. The department remains committed to understanding the past by exploring regional and local history in its national and global context by adopting an interdisciplinary approach. DEPARTMENT AT A GLANCE: 1) Thrust areas of Study: Modern Indian History, Contemporary Indian History, Environmental and Ecological History, Travel & Tourism 2) Undertaken Major and Minor projects by the faculties. 3) More than 25 publications have been authored by the present faculty of the department. 4) Introduced Certificate Course in Travel & Tourism Approved by the Shivaji University, Kolhapur since 2019-20.
