National Cadet Corps

The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian military cadet corps with its head Quarters at New Delhi. It was established in India during the year 1948 and since then, it remains open on voluntary basis for both college and school students of the country. Air Force, Army and Indian Navy are three groups which are involved in grooming of the country's youth into patriotic, responsible and well-disciplined citizens. NCC is a voluntary organization which is open to school, college and university students all over India. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

The NCC unit was introduced in the college in 2012. The unit with strength of 52 cadets (Army Wing), is under 3 Maharashtra Battalion, Mumbai Group ‘A’, Maharashtra directorate.

The NCC unit offers 2 years & 3 years training after which cadets are awarded with ‘B’ & ‘C’ certificate. NCC training is held twice every week in the college premises. Training involves Drill, Physical training, Yoga, Weapon training and disaster management training.

The NCC unit of the college works on the motto of NCC i.e. Unity & Discipline. We have a disciplined unit of 52 cadets who are always ready for any duty assigned to them. They participate in various social activities like Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Blood donation, Traffic control during Ganpati visarjan etc. NCC unit gives a brilliant display on Independence Day & Republic Day.

The enrollment starts from 15th June every year. Enrolled cadets attend a mandatory camp to appear for cert exams. Following are the camps to which the cadets are sent : Combined annual training camp, ThalSena camp, Youth exchange programme, Basic leadership camp, Advance leadership camp, Army attachment Camp, mountaineering, trekking camp etc.

Aims of NCC

1. To develop character, commandership, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
2. To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in walks of life and always available for the service of the nation.
3. To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the armed forces.
